Aditya Chopra is an Indian filmmaker who born on 21 May 1971. He is the elder son of late filmmaker Yash Chopra. He did his schooling from Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and Bombay Scottish School and graduation from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics with Karan Johar, Anil Thandani and Abhishek Kapoor.
When he was at the age of 18, he started his filmmaking career with his father on films including Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991) and Darr (1993). He wrote his first screenplays in his father’s film Parampara (1992) and his mother’s film Aaina. When he was at the age of 23, he started work independently. He made his directional debut film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge in which he was the writer also. The film was starred by Kajol and Shahrukh Khan and became the blockbuster at the box office and highest grossing film that year.
His directional films were Dilwale Duhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), Mohabbatein (2000), Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) and Befikre (2016). He worked as a writer and producer on number of films including Veer- Zaara (2004), Dhoom (2004), Fanaa (2006), Dhoom 2 (2006), Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Sultan (2016), Dhoom 3 (2017), and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). His off-beat produced films were Kabul Express (2006), Chak De! India (2007), Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) and Hichki! (2018).
