Anurag Kashyap is an Indian film director, producer, editor, writer and an actor also who born on 10 September 1972. He was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He works in Hindi Cinema. He received several accolades for his film including National Film Award and Filmfare Awards.
In 2013, he was awarded Ordre Des Arts et Letters by Government of France for his contributions of films. Firstly he worked as a television writer. Then he got a major break as a co-writer in the film Satya which was directed by Ram Gopal Verma. Then Anurag made his directional debut by the film Paanch. Due to censorship issues, the film was not released in theatres.
He directed his next film Black Friday in 2007. The film was based on a book by Hussain Zaidi. After that, he made a number of films including Devdas (2009), Gulaal (2009), That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011), Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), The Lunchbox, Bombay Talkies (2013), Ugly (2014), Raman Raghav (2016) and Mukkabaaz (2018). Recently he released his romantic drama film Mannmarziyaan. Instead of filmmaking, Anurag Kashyap is a member of an NGO named Angan which is for the child protection. He is a founder of two film production films Phantom films and Anurag Kashyap films.
