Imtiaz Ali is an Indian film Director, writer and producer who born on 16 June 1971. He was born in Jamshedpur to a father Mansoor Ali. He did his schooling from St. Michael’s High School and D.B.M.S English School. He did his graduation from Hindu College, University of Delhi. After that, he went to Mumbai and completed a diploma course from Xavier Institute of Communication.
He started his career from directed Television programs like Kurukshetra on Zee TV and Imtihaan on Doordarshan. He made his directional debut in Bollywood in 2005 with the film Socha Na Tha. His second directional film was Jab We Met which was starred by Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. The film became a blockbuster at the box office. Then worked on two films Love Aaj Kal and Rockstar.
After a few years, he found his own production company named ‘Window Seat Films’ in which he made his first film Highway which got mixed reviews. Later, he made on a number of films including Tamasha (2015), Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017). In addition of director, he also worked as a writer and producer like Ahista Ahista, Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail and Love Aaj Kal as a writer and Highway, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Laila Majnu as a producer.
