Rajkumar Hirani is an Indian director and editor who born on 20 November 1962. He is one of the most successful filmmakers in the Indian film industry. He was born in Nagpur. He did his schooling from St. Francis De’Sales High School, Nagpur, Maharashtra. He completed his graduation in commerce.
He was interested in films and theatre since his childhood. He tried his luck as a film editor but experience forced him to shift to advertising. He soon established himself as a director of the advertisement. After some time, he started work with Vidhu Vinod Chopra in promo and trailers for 1942: A Love Story.
In the film Mission Kashmir, he got his first big opportunity as a film editor. In 2003, he made his first directional debut with the film Munnabhai MBBS starring by Sanjay Dutt. The film made on a budget of Rs. 55 million and it received huge popularity that year. His second directional film was Lage Raho Munna Bhai starred by Sanjay Dutt in 2006. The film received huge reviews and had number of prominent screenings. After that he worked on several successful films including 3 Idiots, PK, Sanju etc. Rajkumar has won 15 Filmfare Awards in his career and he is the founder of Rajkumar Hirani Films production house.
