Ekta Kapoor is an Indian film, television producer and director who born on 7 June 1975. She is a daughter of big film actors Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor. She is an elder sister of Tusshar Kapoor who is also a film actor. She did her studies from Bombay Scottish School, Mahim and Mithibai College.
When she was at 17, she began her career in the film industry with Kailash Surendranath as an intern. Afterwards, she decided to become a producer. In 2001, she began her production from the films Kyo Kii…. Main Jhuth Nhi Bolta, Kucch To Hai etc. then she worked as a co-producer with Sunil Shetty in the films Shootout at Lokhandwala, Mission Istanbul and EMI- Liya Hai Toh Chukana Padega.
From 2010 to 2014, she gave to Bollywood number of films like Once Upon a Time In Mumbai, Love Sex Or Dhokha Darling and Shor in the City. Ekta also produces numerous television series including Pavitra Rishta, Hum Paanch, Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahin Kissi Roz, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kasautii Zindagi Ki, Jodha Akbar and Bade Acche Lagte Hain. Recently, she produces following television series Naagin, Kumkum Bhagya, Kasam Tere Pyar Ki, Chandrakanta, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Kundali Bhagya. Instead of this, Ekta also launched 40 web TV series online by her digital app ALTBalaji.
