Dulquer Salmaan is an Indian actor who born on 28 July 1986. He works predominantly in Malayalam cinema. He has also acted in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi Films. He was born in Kochi, Kerala, India. He was born to a father Mammootty and a mother Sulfath. He has an elder sister Surumi. He did his schooling from Sishya School in Chennai and graduated from Purdue University. Then he decided to make his career in acting.
In 2011, he signed his debut film Second Show which was directed by Rajendran in which he played the role of Harilal. The film was commercially successful and won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He next starred in the film Ustad Hotel directed by Anwar Rasheed. The film got the major success at the box office. In 2013, he appeared in the film ABCD; American Born Confused Desi.
After that, he appeared in several hit films including Bangalore Days, Njaan (2014), O Kadhal Kanmani (2015), Charlie (2015), Kali (2016), Kammatipaadam (2016), Jomonte Suvisheshangal (2017) etc. In 2018, he appeared in the film Mahanati. The film was his Telugu debut and got major success at the box office. In July 2018, he acted in two films Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal and The Zoya Factor.
On 22 December 2011, Dulquer Salmaan got married to architect Amal Sufiya. She belongs to a North Indian Muslim family. On 5 May 2017, the couple had a daughter, Maryam Ameerah Salmaan.
